Lastly, the company revealed that the latest addition in the Kiseki/ Legend of Heroes franchise, Trails into Reverie, is coming to the West in 2023 as well! Though the Cold Steel storyline is technically “finished” in Cold Steel 4, Trails into Reverie brings back Rean Schwarzer and Trails of Zero/ Trails from Azure protagonist Lloyd Bannings as two of its main characters, alongside the mysterious masked man “C”. This was an action title developed for the PSP in 2012, and although it wasn’t tied into the main Kiseki storyline, it didn’t stop the fans from wanting it brought over. Of course, these weren’t the only announcements Nihon Falcom made, as they also confirmed the release of The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails coming in 2023. Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes series is primarily known for its interconnected Trails / Kiseki games, of which there are currently twelve titles, but its history runs all the way back to Dragon Slayer, a series touted as the forerunner of action JRPGs.

These two titles have long been the missing piece in the Legend of Heroes/Kiseki chronology, taking place between the Trails in the Sky trilogy and the Trails of Cold Steel quartet - titles released in the West long ago.
